Our mission at The Dance Compound is to provide students of all levels with more than just dance classes, but a unique community-feel and inclusive experience in which the student can grow both mentally and physically as a dancer. Our highly trained and certified instructors have a wealth of experience in teaching and performing various styles and disciplines.

  • Kelsea, Studio Director

    Kelsea Fitzpatrick

    STUDIO DIRECTOR

    Dance, performance and choreography is a lifelong passion of Kelsea’s. Her extensive dance background consists of 25+ years of local and international dance training and teaching. In addition to dance, Kelsea found a deep connection to the world of STEM education during the completion of her B.Sc. Chemical Engineering. You’ll often find her using science and physics as teaching tools during her dance classes.

    Kelsea’s vision, musicality, training methods and innovative movement patterns have made her a sought-after instructor, mentor and choreographer in the Calgary dance community.

    When she’s not at the studio, you’ll find her being Mom to two energetic kiddos, walking her dogs, or teaching fitness classes in the community.

  • Billie Stout

    Billie grew up dancing in Calgary, where she trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and acro. She continues to train and take dance classes, as she believes in lifelong learning and strives to explore new ways of teaching.

    Billie recently graduated with a B.A. English from the University of Calgary and is currently enrolled in the Education Program at St. Mary’s University.

    Billie has a hunger for learning, and wants to instil that love of learning in her students. Billie’s focus for her classes is to ensure all her dancers have fun and feeling accomplished.

  • Charlotte Robinson

    Charlotte started dancing in 2011 and became a teacher in 2019. They’ve trained extensively in Ballet (RAD), Tap (Al Gilbert), Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. Miss C also attended Central Memorial's Performing and Visual Arts Dance program, where they learned from several industry professionals, and expanded their knowledge of various dance genres, including latin, modern, swing, vogue, west african, and body percussion.

    Since starting their teaching career Miss C has taken workshops with Rambert dance company, Acrobatic Arts, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Ballet Bodies, Maven Movement, and the Alberta Dance Educators Association. She recently completed the Rambert Grades Contemporary Syllabus training and is in the final months of their Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies program with the RAD .

    Miss C is so excited to return to The Dance Compound for their 2nd year with the team!

  • Eugenio Hipolito

    Guess who’s back?! Mr E!

    Mr E has been a part of the Performing Arts his entire life. Having been inspired by many genres of music, he began exploring the arts through many schools and extracurricular activities.

    Being a well-rounded performer, whether by being an accomplished Singer- songwriter, or a professional dancer, Eugenio has had the opportunity of performing & touring abroad such places as, Ottawa, Mexico, Jamaica, California, Disneyland & Asia.

    Eugenio is also the proud owner, and founder of Eproductions Co Inc. where he is a dedicated Photographer & Videographer.

  • Leandra Fraulin

    Leandra has been teaching dance since the age of 15 when she started as a student teacher. She is a technically trained Jazz dancer (ADAPT syllabus) with extensive experience in Contemporary, Lyrical, Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop. She has danced both competitively and recreationally within Calgary.

    In all of her classes, Leandra likes to encourage all of her dancers to use larger-than-life movements, explore breath-work through their dancing, and to use all of their counts (you will hear her say that often)!

  • Meghann O'Hearn

    Meghann began dancing at the age of five and trained competitively in jazz, ballet, acro, and contemporary under TDC's very own Ms. Kelsea! After graduation, Meghann joined En Corps Dance Collective, a local performance company, to continue her passion for dance. In 2022, Meghan was elected as Artistic Director of ECDC, creating the company's seasonal performance "Ephemeral." Now, as vice president and choreographer, Meghann continues to grow her technique, choreographic style, and artistry with the collective. She is excited to return to TDC in this new role and connect with the next generation of young dancers!

    Outside of the studio, Meghann is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology at the U of C. She is passionate about interdisciplinary research and hopes to bridge her passions for dance and psychology.

  • Shannon Dagg

    Shannon is a dancer, instructor, and choreographer from Victoria, British Columbia. In 2020, she moved to Calgary in pursuit of her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and pedagogy, of which she obtained in the Spring of 2024 with Distinction. Shannon teaches and choreographs all over Calgary and has had the opportunity to work numerous jobs in the field, ranging from studio and public school work, to event coordinating for View Dance Challenge, to sewing costumes for performers.

    Shannon’s goal is to become a well known name in choreography, and sees herself in many roles including the likes of working onboard a cruise ship as an entertainer, teaching masterclasses, and even creating choreography for broadway musicals.

  • Shelby Snow

    Shelby has been dancing since the age of 5 in tap, jazz and ballet. She currently holds certifications in Acrobatic Arts (Module 1, AcroDance Preschool), is affiliate member of CDTA and Rambert Grades. Shelby is going into her fifth year of her dance teaching career. This path has allowed her to choreograph for multiple dance teams, schools, and musicals throughout Calgary.

    Shelby has continued her passion for dance through participating in performance groups around Calgary, such as En Corps Dance Collective and the musical 'The Gardener’.

    Outside of the dance world, Shelby holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, and is going into her first year of her Bachelor of Education program at the University of Calgary.
