The Dance Compound invites applications for Community Education Leaders and Instructors (Preschool Partnerships) in Calgary, AB.
DUTIES
This position will be a movement leader in our daytime Community Partnership Program, at one or more of our various early education mobile dance program locations in Calgary.
A successful candidate will be responsible for providing high quality, age-appropriate dance instruction and education to all-ages, community members, clients, and dancers in an enthusiastic, open and safe manner.
Conduct engaging dance programs at one or multiple community/childcare locations.
Teach various dance styles and techniques in a fun and educational manner.
Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages active participation and learning.
Maintain a professional and organized approach to dance instruction.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all participating children.
Maintain program materials and equipment, and dance facilities.
Liase with studio members, clients, dancers while at our Community Partner location(s).
Facilitate end-term performance style showcase for select programs.
Training will be provided for any specific administrative or housekeeping tasks.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Previous experience as a dance instructor with a strong dance background.
Enthusiasm and interest for working with children and a passion for early education in dance.
Very good oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Sensitive to the needs of various ages groups and their learning ability.
Flexibility and ability to work with diverse groups and varied locations.
Demonstrates leadership, initiative, and creativity.
Organized, efficient and productive.
Ability to work independently, with little hands on guidance.
Background check may be required.
KNOWLEDGE
Experience in early education and/or dance is considered an asset.
Dance certifications an asset.
